Learn how paper gets made
100% beginner friendly
Bond with your family and friends by making paper together – you’ll have
In 2017, our passion for paper took us to Chiang Mai, Thailand to learn firsthand how mulberry paper gets made. Though papermaking has greatly become automated, papermakers still use tools and techniques very similar to those used hundreds of years ago to create paper entirely by hand. The process includes the gathering of plant fibers, the preparation of the paper pulp, and lastly, the forming of the paper sheets, one sheet at a time. The result? Chemical-free, pest-resistant paper that can last for centuries. With the help and guidance of Thai papermakers, we created this one-of-a-kind kit that is based on the traditional Thai papermaking method. We tested different woods, deckle and mould sizes, methods and embellishments in order to make your experience making paper a simple and fun one. Now you can turn recycled paper into beautiful artisan paper.
